Sehr gelungen, wie White hier das persönliche Schicksal und die Vergangenheit ihrer Serienfigur Ronnie Ventana mit deren aktuellem "Fall" verknüpft.
Fast meint der Leser selbst die Bitterkeit zu spüren, die mit dem Tod von Ventanas Eltern einhergeht und die Verzweiflung, mit der sie versucht, andere davon zu überzeugen, daß der vermeintliche "Unfall" alles andere als das war.
Weniger von der gelassenen Heiterkeit durchdrungen, welche die anderen Bände der Serie rund um die Tochter der toten Juwelendiebe auszeichnet, aber darum nicht minder lesenswert.
